i) வரைபடத்திலிருந்து, ஒரு வாடிக்கையாளர் 3250 ஐதள்ளுபடியாகப் பெற்றால் குறித்த விலையைக் காண்க.
ii) குறித்த விலையானது ₹2500 எனில், தள்ளுபடியைக் காண்க.
தீர்வு :
y = 1/2 x

i) ஒரு வாடிக்கையாளர் ₹3250 ஐ தள்ளுபடியாகப் பெற்றால், குறித்த விலை 16500 ஆகும்.
ii) குறித்த விலையானது ₹2500 எனில், தள்ளுபடி தொகை ₹1250 ஆகும்.

கேள்வி 2.
xy = 24, x, y> 0 என்ற வரைபடத்தை வரைக. வரைபடத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தி,
i) x = 3 எனில் – ஐக் காண்க மற்றும்
ii) y – 6 எனில் x-ஐக் காண்க.
தீர்வு :
xy = 24

வரைபடத்தில் இருந்து
i) x = 3 எனில் y = 8

ஒரு தொட்டியை நிரப்பத் தேவையான குழாய்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும் அவை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளும் நேரமும் பின்வரும் அட்டவணையில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மேற்காணும் தரவுகளுக்கு வரைபடம் வரைந்து,
i) 5 குழாய்களை பயன்படுத்தினால், தொட்டி நிரம்ப எடுத்துக் கொள்ளப்பட்ட நேரத்தைக் காண்க.
ii) 9 நிமிடங்களில் தொட்டி நிரம்பினால் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட குழாய்களின் எண்ணிக்கையைக்

பின்வருமாறு சமமாக பிரித்து வழங்குவதாக அறிவிக்கிறது.

i) விகிதசம மாறிலியைக் காண்க.
ii) மேற்காணும் தரவுகளுக்கு வரைபடம் வரைந்து, 12 பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் பங்கெடுத்துக் கொண்டால்
ஒவ்வொரு பங்கேற்பாளரும் பெறும் பரிசுத்தொகை எவ்வளவு என்பதைக் காண்க.

i) அட்டவணையிலிருந்து இது எதிர் மாறுபாடு ஆகும்.

பெறப்படும் கட்டணத் தொகையானது வாகனம் நிறுத்தப்படும் நேரத்திற்கு நேர் மாறுபாட்டில் உள்ளதா அல்லது எதிர் மாறுபாட்டில் உள்ளதா என ஆராய்க. கொடுக்கப்பட்ட தரவுகளை வரைபடத்தில் குறிக்கவும். மேலும்,
(i) நிறுத்தப்படும் நேரம் 6 மணி எனில், கட்டணத் தொகையைக் காண்க.

ஓர் எண் மற்றும் அதன் தலைகீழி ஆகியவற்றின் வித்தியாசம் \(\frac { 24 }{ 5 }\) எனில், அந்த எண்ணைக் காண்க.
தீர்வு :
அந்த எண் x என்க
அதன் தலைகீழி \(\frac { 1 }{ x }\)
கணக்கின் படி
x – \(\frac{1}{x}=\frac{24}{5}\)
⇒ \(\frac{x^{2}-1}{x}=\frac{24}{5}\)
⇒ 5(x² – 1) = 24x
⇒ 5x² – 24x – 5 = 0
⇒ (5x + 1) (x – 5) = 0

(2ω + 16) (2ω + 12) = 285

பேருந்தின் வேகத்தை x கி.மீ/மணி என்க

சதுர மலர் மேடையின் பக்கத்தை x என்க கணக்கின் படி.

ஒரு செங்கோண முக்கோணத்தின் கர்ணம் 25 செ.மீ மற்றும் அதன் சுற்றளவு 56 செ.மீ எனில், முக்கோணத்தின் சிறிய பக்கத்தின் அளவைக் காண்க.

முக்கோணத்தின் சிறிய பக்கத்தின் நீளத்தை x செ.மீ என்க.
கணக்கின் படி, சுற்றளவு = 56 செ.மீ
⇒ AB + BC + AC = 56
⇒ x + BC + 25 = 56
∴ BC = 31 – x

i) 9x² – 12x + 4 = 0
ii) \(\frac{5 x+7}{x-1}\) = 3x + 2
தீர்வு :
9x² – 12x + 4 = 0
÷ 9 ⇒ x² – \(\frac{12}{9} x+\frac{4}{9}\) = 0
⇒ x² – \(\frac{4}{3} x+\frac{4}{9}\) = 0
⇒ x² – \(\frac{4}{3} x\) = \(-\frac{4}{9}\)
இருபுறமும் \(\frac{4}{9}\) ஐ கூட்ட

ii) \(\frac{5 x+7}{x-1}\) = 3x + 2
⇒ 5x + 7 = (x – 1) (3x + 2)
= 3x² – x – 2
⇒ 3x² – 6x – 9 = 0
÷ by 3 ⇒ x² – 2x – 3 = ()
x² – 2x = 3

x² – 2x + 1 = 3 + 1

சாய்வு தளத்தில் – வினாடிகளில் ஒரு பந்து கடக்கும் தூரம் d = t² – 0.75t அடிகளாகும். 11.25 அடி தொலைவைக் கடக்கப் பந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் நேரம் எவ்வளவு?
தீர்வு :
கணக்கின் படி d = t² – 0.75t
= 11.25 = t² – 0.75t
= t² – 0.75 – 11.75 = 0
= (t – 3.75) (t + 3) = 0
t – 3.75 = 0 | t + 3 = 0
t = 3.75 | t = -3
11.25 அடி தொலைவைக் கடக்க எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் நேரம் 3.75 வினாடி.

கேள்வி 1.
காரணிப்படுத்தல் முறையைப் பயன்படுத்திப் பின்வரும் இருபடிச் சமன்பாடுகளைத் தீர்க்க.
i) 4x² – 7x – 2 = 0
ii) 3(P²– 6) = P(P + 5)
iii) \(\sqrt{a(a-7)}=3 \sqrt{2}\)
iv) \(\sqrt{2} x^{2}+7 x+5 \sqrt{2}=0\)
v) 2x² – x + \(\frac { 1 }{ 8 }\) = 0
தீர்வு : i)
4x² – 7x – 2 = 0
⇒ (x – 2) (4x + 1)
⇒ x – 2 = 0 (அ) 4x + 1 = 0
x = 2 (அ) 4x = -1
∴ மூலங்கள் x = 2, \(-\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\)

ii) 3(P² – 6) = P(P + 5)
3P² – 18 = p² + 5p
3P² – 18 – p² – 5p = 0
2P² – 5P – 18 = 10
(2P – 9) (P + 2) = 0
∴ P = \(\frac { 9 }{ 2 }\) – 2

iii) \(\sqrt{a(a-7)}=3 \sqrt{2}\)
இருபுறமும் வர்க்கம் காண
= a(a – 7) = 9 x 2
= a² – 7a = 18
a² – 7a – 18 = 0
∴ (a – 9) (a + 2) = 0
∴ a = 9,- 2

v) 2x² – x + \(\frac { 1 }{ 8 }\) = 0
இருபுறமும் 8 ஆல் பெருக்க
= 16x² – 8x + 1 = 0
= (4x – 1)² = 0
= (4x – 1) (4x – 1) = 0
4x – 1 = 0 (அ) 4x – 1 = 0
x + \(\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) (அ) x \(\frac{1}{4}\)
∴ மூலங்கள் \(\frac{1}{4}, \frac{1}{4}\)

கேள்வி 2.
n அணிகள் பங்குபெறும் ஒரு கையுந்து விளையாட்டு (volley ball) போட்டியில் ஒவ்வோர் அணியும் மற்ற அனைத்து அணிகளோடும் விளையாட வேண்டும். 15 போட்டிகள் கொண்ட தொடரில் மொத்தப் போட்டிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை G(n) = \(\frac{n^{2}-n}{2}\) எனில் , பங்கேற்கும் அணிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை எத்தனை?
தீர்வு :
கணக்கின் படி \(\frac{n^{2}-n}{2}\) = 15
⇒ n² – n = 30
⇒ n² – n – 30 = 0
⇒ (n – 6) (n + 5) = 0
∴ n = 6 (அ) – 5
