2 + \(\sqrt{3} i\) -ஐ மூலமாகக் கொண்ட குறைந்தபட்ச படியுடன் விகிதமுறு கெழுக்களுடைய ஓர் பல்லுறுப்புக்கோவைச் சமன்பாட்டைக் காண்க.
தீர்வு:
2 + i\(\sqrt{3}\) பல்லுறுப்பு கோவையின் ஒரு மூலம் ஆதலால் அதனுடைய இணை மேலும் 2 – i
\(\sqrt{3}\) யும் அந்த சமன்பாட்டிற்கு ஒரு மூலமாகும்.
∴ மூலங்களின் கூடுதல்
= 2 + i\(\sqrt{3}\) + 2 – i\(\sqrt{3}\) = 4
∴ மூலங்களின் பெருக்கல் பலன்
= (2 + i\(\sqrt{3}\)) + (2 – i\(\sqrt{3}\))
= 22 + \((\sqrt{3})^{2}\)

தீர்வு:
கொடுக்கப்பட்ட(\(\sqrt{5}\) – \(\sqrt{3}\)) என்பது ஒரு மூலம்
⇒ \(\sqrt{5}\) + \(\sqrt{3}\) என்பது மேலும் ஒரு மூலம்
∴ மூலங்களின் கூடுதல்
= \(\sqrt{5}\) – \(\sqrt{3}\) + \(\sqrt{5}\) + \(\sqrt{3}\) = 2\(\sqrt{5}\)
மூலங்களின் பெருக்கல் பலன்

ஒரு நேர்க்கோடும் ஒரு பரவளையமும் இரு புள்ளிகளுக்கு மேற்பட்டு வெட்டிக் கொள்ளாது என்பதனை நிரூபிக்க.
தீர்வு:
ஆய அச்சுகளை பொருத்தமாக தேர்ந்தெடுப் பதன் மூலம் நேர்க்கோட்டுக்கான சமன்பாட்டை y = mx + c …(1)
மற்றும் பரவளையத்திற்கான சமன்பாட்டை y2 = 4ax என எடுத்துக் கொள்ளலாம் … (2)
(1)ஐ (2)-ல் பிரதியிட கிடைப்பது,
(mx + c)2 = 4ax
⇒ m2x2 + c2 + 2mcx = 4ax
⇒ m2x2 + x(2mc – 4a) + c2 = 0
இது x ல் அமைந்த இருபடிச் சமன்பாடு. இந்த சமன்பாடு இரண்டு தீர்வுகளுக்கு மேல் கொண்டிருக்காது. எனவே ஒரு நேர்க்கோடும் ஒரு பரவளையமும் இரு புள்ளிகளுக்கு மேற்பட்டு வெட்டிக் கொள்ளாது.
